Red Fox

The Red Fox is a very successful animal. In addition to being common in North Carolina, it has the largest geographical range on any living carnivore and is continuing to expand it’s range. Foxes are animals of keen vision, hearing and smell. They can run at speeds of up to 45 miles per hour.

They are predators and average eating 5 pounds of prey per week. Their diet includes rodents, rabbits, other small mammals, birds, and reptiles.
